When the world began to collapse under the weight of its own population, the people chose survival at any cost. The result was the Choice Event—a system built not by a government, but by those desperate enough to believe it was necessary.
Now, in a future where faith has been erased and obedience is law, survival is not a right—it is assigned.
At eighteen, every citizen must face the Choice Event, a ritual that determines a single outcome: life… or death. The system is trusted. The process is unquestioned.
Until Daniel’s sister is condemned.
Marion—brilliant, defiant, and dangerously different—is sent to the Gauntlet, a brutal public trial where suffering is spectacle and survival is never guaranteed. As Daniel searches for a way to save her, cracks begin to form in everything he once believed about the world—and the system that controls it.
With time running out, Daniel must decide how far he is willing to go to defy a power no one has ever escaped.
Because some truths are buried for a reason. And uncovering them may cost him everything.
The Buried Word is a gripping dystopian novel about power, sacrifice, and the dangerous truth that not all systems are meant to be survived.
Thank you for stopping by and spending a little time here. I’m grateful you’re interested in my work and curious about the person behind the stories. I aspire to write books that entertain and educate, while giving readers stories that make them think, feel, and perhaps see the world a little differently.
I’ve always been a creative at heart. I’m a Christian, musician, author, songwriter, and producer, and each part of who I am finds its way into what I create. Whether I’m writing a novel, playing the piano, producing music, or developing a new idea, I love the process of turning imagination into something people can experience. My faith, my life experiences, and my love for storytelling continue to shape the stories I tell.
Most importantly, I’m a husband and a family man, and I’m incredibly grateful for my beautiful wife, Dr. Vanessa R. Anderson, and the life we share. Family keeps me grounded and reminds me that creativity is ultimately about connection. So explore the site, discover a story, listen to some music, and stay awhile. There are plenty more stories to tell.

Author
Gerald Anderson is an extraordinary author whose writing beautifully combines powerful storytelling with profound spiritual insights. His book Standing Firm, adapted into a movie, tackles the critical issue of domestic violence with grace and courage, highlighting a family’s fight for healing and strength. I had the privilege of contributing to the movie’s score, including two of my original songs, which made the project even more meaningful. In addition to addressing social issues, Gerald writes on deeply spiritual topics, as seen in his book Weight Loss. This work resonated with me on a profound level, as I could literally see revelations unfolding before my eyes and noticed striking similarities to real-life truths. Gerald is a true child of God, and it is evident how God uses his gift to reach people. He has a remarkable ability to convey God’s word in ways that your everyday person can understand, making his writing both accessible and transformative. Having known Gerald for over a decade, I can confidently say that he is not only a gifted author but also an amazing friend. His dedication to his craft and his faith shines through in everything he creates.

(27 hours) This is a great read!! It was very intriguing to see what people would do if they only had 27 hours left. To see who kept the faith, who lost the faith, and who gained faith. Excited for the second book.

Weight Loss is a really great book! The book was very transparent in representing the end of times and what will happen if we don't accept Jesus into our hearts now. The main character, Stacy Friday represents our inner and outer struggles of life when it comes to dealing with our self-image. I love how in the end she wins when it seemed as if all hope was lost. There are plenty of scenarios that are disclosed in the book, and it will make you think of where you really want to spend eternity. I recommend this book to all!!!!! You will never look at LIFE the same!!! Phenomenal Read!!!!!
